I've been taking my bikes for upkeep and repairs to Spokes in Fairfax for many years. Great service and very fair prices. Took my bike in yesterday and had the adjusted bike back in 20 minutes. The team is very friendly and helpful.
However, their store manager, Joe, has been very rude and unprofessional on multiple occasions and speaks to his customers in a condescending manner. I have seen it in the shop before with other customers, myself included and from past reviews and comments online.
I emailed the owner, and after speaking with Jim it seemed to me that he was taking Joe's side. In my opinion this can be interperated as a reoccurring issue that is detrimental to business and needs to be dealt with. Unfortunately to date, this issue has not been addressed and therefore, I cannot leave this place a good review nor return to it as a customer.
Great service and selection. Recently bought a bike there and the staff was polite and helpful with providing recommendations without pressuring me.
Tonight my husband took me to this place to check on bikes. Unexpectedly we purchased a good one. But nothing is better than the helpful assistance of a salesman (unfortunately I was too excited with a new bike that I forgot to ask their name). One of them even helped us to carry and then fit the bike on a rear sit of a car (unbelievable how we still don't have a bike rack). So, on behalf of a not experienced rider, but passionate bike lover I would recommend this place, if you are looking for knowledgeable, easy going professionals.
This is the store that I will trust for my future bike purchase. I had really great experience with Manager Joe. He is knowledgeable with every single item in the store. I had couple problems with new bike but they fixed it right away. Good and responsible mechanics can resolve common but hard issues like creaking noise. Problems can be solved here.
After going here to tune my bike up and add components to it consistently for over a year and a half now, I can officially say I will never visit this location again. I have had great experiences with most of the staff here and have even bought a road bike from their store in Vienna too.
