This museum was not one I expected to respond to so enthusiastically. My spouse wanted to visit and I agreed to tag along. I'm personally not much of a gun enthusiast. And I know the NRA is surrounded by controversy. So, I promised myself I would approach the museum as just that - a museum housing a collection of artifacts.

Brilliantly maintained and displayed. There are plenty of information stations and each gun is neatly labeled. They have weapon props from several movies, 19th century gatling guns, as well as plenty of modern ones. There is even a display of various 'Trick' weapons, such as a dagger-gun, harmonica-clip pistol, and a trench knife/revolver combo. The information provided is non-biased, only providing the stats and history of the weapon. Definitely a place every American should visit!

I never realized just how significant the NRA is. I knew they had influence-I love what they stand for and accomplish. Just based on the awesome/unbelievable museum displays they are seriously deep. The museum has on display weapons that are beyond dollar value-priceless!

I recommend the National Firearms Museum for anyone interested in firearms, gunsmithing, military history or national history.

The museum layout was inviting, with dozens of galleries. The collection was astounding. I might even venture awesome in the truest sense of the word. The firearms collection covered seven centuries and provided a solid historical background for each section. The weapons ranged from a 14th century hand cannon to modern firearms. Many of the pieces were works of art in and of themselves.

This museum was free to enter, and there was ample parking. I enjoyed the displays because of the history behind each of the pieces. My favorite was the display about Wild Earp and the one for Annie Oakley. My kids enjoyed learning about the history of our country here, especially regarding the Revolutionary war. It wasn't just guns, there were other artifacts and displays. There was a tour which looked informative, but we didn't go on it.

This place was amazing! We took a guided tour, which is a must, and we were very pleased. The collections were substantial. So much history. Some people have been so generous to donate their own collection to the museum. Millions of dollars worth. The historical worth is priceless!!
