This place was great! We held 3 puppies with no problem. Employees were very helpful
I worked here for many years long ago. The puppies are all from puppy mills, none of the fish, reptiles, or anything is quarantined to prevent disease spread. The owners and managers are horrible to say the least, and that doesn’t even scratch the surface of what goes on behind the scenes. The negative reviews are spot on. Good luck if you ever shop here... just understand your money is going to a company that epitomizes animal cruelty and greed.
I came to Petland in Fairfax this afternoon to hang out with some pups on a long lunch break. I came in and not a single employee was on the sales floor until another customer was ready to check out. I laid eyes on a total of 5 employees and not a single one greeted me or offered to get a puppy out of a cage for me. In fact, gentleman that seemed to be a manager had a husky pup in his arms and not so gently tossed him in a cage while i was there, and, still no offer to assist me in anyway. This is not the first time I’ve had a bad experience in this store, but it is the worst experience. I think it’s time for some new employees.....
We drove for an hour to come look at puppies, thinking about getting one for my birthday. And we're told they had a one puppy policy where you can only play with one puppy. There's absolutely no signage of that rule in the store. What pet store does that? Terrible experience!
I was upset to go in and see a store selling puppies who lived in tiny cages with wire bottoms - that hurts their feet. Though I did not note any poop in the cages, I saw some other reviews. The kittens had a larger area, but most dogs were in ~3x3 squares. My heart aches for them. They should be rescued and given more kind care. Animals are not products, they are living creatures.
